This year, the International Automobil-Ausstellung will be held in Munich for the first time as the "IAA Mobility" mobility platform. In addition to the classic product and brand presentation on the exhibition grounds as part of the "Summit", there will be a wide-ranging program in downtown Munich under the motto "Open Space" as well as the "Blue Lane", a test track for sustainable mobility.

Fraunhofer IOSB will be attending the "IAA MOBILITY Summit" with the following exhibits:

OCTANE – A flexible simulation platform for automotive applications

OCTANE represents a flexible and extendable open source simulation platform for mobility applications and is being developed under the leadership of Fraunhofer IOSB together with partners. The special feature is the individual adaptability of the simulation to the respective needs regarding computation time, result quality, usability and available data, guaranteed by a modular software architecture, an intuitive usability and use of independent levels of detail, as well as a consistent physically-based modeling. Use cases include: Interoperable traffic flow and multi-body simulation, physically-based sensor data synthesis, and drone simulation.

VERTEX – Test vehicles for technology experiments

The VERTEX research vehicle on display, together with its electrically driven sister vehicle, is one of two Fraunhofer IOSB Golf VII vehicles equipped for fully automated driving. Both feature redundant 360° equipment of various environmental sensors, including camera, radar and LiDAR technology, as well as the ability to access the vehicle's own CAN bus for automated longitudinal and lateral control. The »test vehicles for technology experiments« are used in research projects for automated and connected driving, cyber-safe cooperative driving via imaging light communication, simulation, and in the field of human-machine interaction.
