DWT-SGW Conference - Applied Research for Defense and Security in Germany

March 19-21, 2024, Bonn, Germany

The conference is aimed at science and research, the defense industry, the Bundeswehr, the civil service, parliaments and ministries in Germany.

Defense research in particular can and must make a decisive contribution to gaining, maintaining and expanding the necessary sovereignty in strategically important technology topics that is required to be able to live in peace and freedom in Germany, the EU and NATO in the future. It can and must become more interdisciplinary and networked and thus serve an equally effective and resilient defense of Germany and its partners.

Good situational awareness is crucial for multinational, cross-domain national and alliance defense. Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance contribute to the timely provision of essential information for a situational picture. As no one nation or domain has all the intelligence capabilities, collaboration is essential. Coalition Shared Data offers solutions for this.

CCG-Seminar: AI for leadership and education

AI is regarded as one of the key technologies of the future. It offers the potential to significantly improve efficiency and effectiveness in the capability domains of intelligence and command and control. However, the corresponding tools must be designed in such a way that humans can evaluate information and decisions derived from AI and are able to take control. The seminar will present current developments and research results in the field of AI. Particular attention will be paid to the support of operational processes through suitable architectures and technological developments in a multinational environment.

AFCEA trade exhibition 2024

Turning point in national security - resilience through disruptive digital solutions

More than 200 renowned specialist companies from 17 nations will be exhibiting. This makes the AFCEA the most important exhibition for information technology in the field of defense and public security in Germany. The Fraunhofer IOSB is represented with 6 exhibits.

👉  Since no one nation or dimension (land, air, sea, cyber and space) has all the intelligence capabilities, cooperation is essential.

👉  The ISR Manager Application assistance system makes it possible to maximize the benefits of ISR systems by improving data collection planning.

👉  Coalition Shared Data (CSD) enables the timely and task-oriented provision of information in joint and combined operations.

Impressions of the Fraunhofer IOSB Defense Technology Day 2024

For the armed forces of tomorrow: this was the motto of our Defense Technology Day. Scientists from various specialist departments of our institute provided the specialist audience with first-hand information on current and future developments in optronic and IT systems for information acquisition, fusion, distribution and use in a military context. Numerous exhibits and live demos will provide hands-on impressions of the possibilities of these technologies.

19th Bundeswehr Education Congress 2024

»Game-based learning and serious gaming for a strong democracy« - opportunities and limits 

As part of the project Competence for the Digital Working World (KoDiA) - Training for Digitalization, the Centre for Technology-Based Education, together with the Bundeswehr Training Centre and the Armed Forces Training Department at the Armed Forces Office, organizes the Bundeswehr Education and Training Congress, now the largest specialist congress in the Bundeswehr.
