QSelect - Digital, multimodal, voice-supported defect documentation directly on the component
The presented multimodal dialog assistant (MuDA) enables a completely digital error documentation in production from marking to repair with a very low expenditure of time. Users can choose between intuitive pointing gestures and a laser pointer as an input method and mark defects on a component quickly, precisely and intuitively.

The modular intelligent process analytics for industry 4.0
Fraunhofer IOSB presents a modular and intelligent process analytics system for the acquisition of quality-relevant material parameters by means of optical spectroscopy. Due to its modular design, individual solutions for quality and process control can be realized easily and cost-effectively. The spectroscopic measurement data is evaluated by embedded AI (Artificial Intelligence) at sensor level, so that calibrated quality and material parameters can be directly transferred to the process and system control.
The presented testing technology can be used in many different ways across different industries. Further areas of application range from agricultural production to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and the recycling of plastics and textiles.

Inspection of reflective surfaces with deflectometry
At Fraunhofer IOSB, the deflectometry technique is used to test flat or slightly curved reflective surfaces. It can be used to examine embossed, polished, lacquered or glazed surfaces of plastic, metal, glass and other materials. As a result, information about the position, size and type of aesthetic defects is available and, if required, about the shape and waviness of the surface. Possible areas of application for the method are in metal, plastic and glass processing or surface finishing and coating.
