Public safety systems

We offer solutions for greater security in public spaces – through innovation, while ensuring the best possible protection of personal rights (“privacy by design”).

Public safety and security is concerned with strengthening civil protection. In times of crisis and disaster, this is just as fundamental to a free, modern society as protecting individuals, groups of people, and critical infrastructure from attacks, assassinations, and assaults.

Our competence in this area is the result of many years of work in the field of civil security as well as relevant work in a military context. A Bundeswehr field camp requires similar security technologies to a critical civilian infrastructure. Various dual-use systems have also been developed here.

Our intelligent video surveillance systems are currently being optimized and tested in Mannheim and Hamburg. The aim is to automatically detect physical assaults (kicking, hitting, strangling) and end them as quickly as possible through police intervention. The systems evaluate body postures (poses) and movement patterns of stick figures (digital skeletons). Such stick figures have no identity, origin, skin color, religion, etc.

Systems have been developed to improve disaster management by providing better support for decision-making in critical, confusing situations. Digital situation recognition and analysis is carried out here using drones, among other things.

Digital Map Table

The Digital Map Table is a software system for distributed situation visualization and situation processing. Any number of users can work independently on PCs and tablets or together on large displays in the same situation.
