Potential crises such as floods, pandemic outbreaks, or security conflicts, as well as threats to cultural assets such as castles and parks, require effective crisis management, with digital technologies playing a crucial role. Given the increasing vulnerability of societies, the development of effective digital tools is a priority in order to better manage crises and identify risks at an early stage. Our focus is on software solutions to support situation centers that enable efficient coordination between different authorities.
A key element in responding optimally to crises is the presentation of the situation and the associated understanding of the situation. The ability to clearly visualize and analyze all relevant information is crucial for making quick, informed decisions. Interoperable systems that integrate different data sources and network authorities enable those responsible to better assess the extent and impact of a crisis. This increases the speed of response and improves the effectiveness of the measures taken.
The continuous development of existing systems that have already been tested in practice is seen as the key to improving crisis response. The potential for creating compatible solutions at the national and international level to enable holistic crisis management is also emphasized.
