Seminar "Surface inspection"
Image processing for surfaces
The inspection of surfaces is a classic field of industrial image processing and has been tried and tested in a wide range of applications for many years. Advances in technology not only enable ever higher inspection speeds and more compact systems, but also, in addition to the evaluation of two-dimensionally recorded textures, the complete recording of complex 3D surface structures down to the nanometer range. Furthermore, it is possible to quickly evaluate colored, patterned, transparent, highly reflective or mirrored surfaces. Various testing and analysis methods are presented in the seminar.
Seminar objective
For most applications, a machine vision system is still not an off-the-shelf product, but requires application-specific customization. The seminar therefore aims to provide participants with an insight into the state of the art in the field of surface inspection and characterization. Participants will learn about the possibilities and current limitations of automatic surface inspection in order to derive guidelines for their own investment planning.
Target groups
- Engineers and designers from development and the test field
- Quality assurance employees
- Managers who want to develop a basis for investment decisions
